Our Members are Ready for Terry Fox
A few of our members stand here with signs for this years run. We have our shoes tied and we're ready to put out our signs. We can't wait to see everyone on September 18th at 9pm for the Bolton Terry Fox Run!
Home Hardware BBQ A Success!
With just a handful of members present at Home Hardware's Inventory Blowout, we managed to run the BBQ and a small clothing sale. Big deal, right? Very big deal; managed to raise over $2,300 for Caledon/Dufferin Victim Services! A worthy cause for such an effort. Thanks to all those who came out and supported us.
Nick Hann is, indeed, THE RUNNING MAN!
We had the great fortune of meeting a young man about his mission to defeat Cystic Fibrosis. Although Nick Hann does not know anyone personally who suffers with Cystic Fibrosis, a news article about one person's struggle has inspired him to do something most of us would see as impossible. Nick will run from Orangeville to the CN Tower in 12 hours. After this long run, will he relax? No, Nick will then climb the steps of the CN Tower to the very top. What better champion could Cystic Fibrosis patients ask for!? This is why we gladly took out our chequebook to sponsor Nick's mission.
It's Hard to Deny that Girls Can Too
A couple of the inspiring young "girls" came out to see us about their program that runs in the summer and defies out of date gender roles. This program teaches young women skills that might not typically be seen as where a woman "belongs". All the power to them! We were happy to support them again this year with another donation.
OPP Youth Foundation Sends Needy Kids to Camp
Always glad to help out the youth of our community. We donated money to help 2 kids who cannot afford to enjoy the great camp programs offered in our area. Now they will be able to participate in all the fun and hopefully make some great memories!
